Behavioral Health Services at the Pride Center of Staten Island provide a supportive and confidential setting for the emotional, psychological, and social needs of the LGBTQIA+ community and their families across the lifespan. All Behavioral Health Services are FREE, confidential, and tailored to the individual. LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families qualify for services. Services include:

  • Short-term individual, couples, or family counseling

  • Support groups based on identity and/or clinical goal

  • LGBTQIA+-affirming mental health resources

The goals of the behavioral health services program are:

  • Promote the mental and emotional well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies.

  • Enhance client’s functioning and personal wellbeing.

  • Provide a warm, empathetic, and judgment-free space for clients.

  • Assist clients with connecting to the appropriate level of care necessary.

The behavioral health services department is not a treatment facility. We do not provide psychiatric evaluations or provide formal diagnoses.

The process from start to finish:

  1. Submit counseling interest form.

  2. Complete Mental Health assessment and I&R form with clinical staff.

  3. Complete intake packet with clinical staff.

  4. Sign and return counseling forms.

  5. Case is assigned to a clinician.
